Orangutan examined by a veterinarian

The twelve-year-old male orangutan Antung is being given a sedative, BOS, Nyaru Menteng Orangutan Rescue and Rehabilitation Center.

Antung is suffering from tuberculosis and pneumonia, and must be x-rayed.

These illnesses have resulted from human contact and Antung’s time as an illegal pet.

This orangutan will likely never be able to return to the wild again.
